Do you wish your dog could get more exercise, social time and fun? Portland Woof Pack makes life easy! We pick up pups from their homes, take them on exciting off-leash adventures with their friends, then drop them off happy and tired.
Our pack adventures take place on a variety of trails and other off-leash locations in the Greater Portland, Maine area. As a nature-based program, we're committed to giving our pups the freedom to play, swim, sniff, learn, explore, and simply have a blast in the great outdoors with their friends!
Why Choose Portland Woof Pack?
We’re no ordinary dog walking service. Unlike traditional doggy daycares and leash walkers, we help dogs get out of the house and into their natural environments in nature. We’re a strictly off-leash program, meaning our dogs get to explore the trails, play in an open setting, sniff, carry sticks (safely), run around, get great exercise both mentally and physically, and overall just be a dog. It’s so important for dogs to be just be dogs sometimes!

- Off-Leash Freedom - our adventures are strictly off-leash, giving your dog the freedom to be themselves and get their zoomies out.
- Safe & Structured Pack Walks - safety is our top priority. Our application process includes a free temperament evaluation to ensure that every dog we accept is friendly and well-socialized.
- Exercise, Social-Time & Fun - our pack walks are designed to burn off your dog's energy on the trails, so you get to enjoy a happy, tired, and relaxed pup at home.
- Nature-Based Adventures - we believe that nature offers amazing benefits for dogs, which is why all of our pack adventures take place in the great outdoors in mother nature.
How It Works
Our pack adventures are designed to give your dog a safe, fun, and social outdoor experience — all with the same love and care we’d give to our own pups. Each adventure lasts roughly 2-4 hours from pickup to drop-off and includes a minimum of 1 hour of off-leash fun at one of our carefully selected adventure locations.
What To Expect:
- Home Pickup - first we'll pick up your pup from your home, and you'll get a notification letting you know they're safely with us.
- All Aboard - next we'll hit the road in our fully equipped adventure vehicle to pick up the rest of your pup's four-legged friends.
- Adventure Time - once the whole pack is accounted for, we'll head into the great outdoors, where your pup will run, play, hike, swim, and explore with their friends. After a day of fun, we'll drop them off happy, tuckered out, and ready for a nap.
Pack Safety First:
Each adventure is led by a certified, experienced Pack Leader, and every location is chosen to match the pack’s energy and mood, whether it’s splashing through streams, chasing sticks, or exploring through the woods. We keep our groups small and structured to ensure every dog receives the freedom, safety, and individual attention they deserve.

About Tyler - Pack Leader
Tyler Small is the founder and Pack Leader at Portland Woof Pack. A native Mainer, Tyler started Woof Pack with the goal of combining his love for animals with his passion for nature and hiking. Growing up with many pets, Tyler always enjoyed taking his childhood dogs, Bella and Whiskey, on trail hikes along the Presumpscot River in Portland. It became clear to him that his dog’s happiest moments in life were always off-leash, exploring the trails in nature. This inspired Tyler to start Portland Woof Pack and help other dogs experience the same freedom and happiness his dogs once knew. In 2022, Tyler became an MDC-certified pack leader through the My Dog Camp program in Vermont, which deepened his knowledge of dog training and pack psychology. He is also certified in pet CPR and first aid. In his spare time, Tyler enjoys playing chess, making music, and spending time with friends and family.
Dog Camp Requirements
Dog Camp is for well-behaved dogs, and unlike doggy daycare, camp is not for every dog. To be accepted into camp, dogs must meet the following requirements:
- At least 2 years old
- Spayed/neutered and current with the rabies, distemper, and bordetella vaccinations
- Friendly with people, dogs and kids
- Comfortable off-leash and in the car
- Has basic recall (comes when called)
Note: if your dog does not meet the criteria for dog camp, or if you are unsure, please reach out to us! We may have suggestions on how to get them ready for camp.
Pricing & Pickup Locations
- Weekly Adventures - $39/day
- Pay Per Day - $45/day
We offer pickups in Portland, South Portland, and select areas if Falmouth. If you live in Falmouth, please email us your pickup address before signing up so we can confirm you’re within our pickup zone.
